DAL HALWA
INGREDIENTS—
Moong dal-1 cup
Sugar -1 cup
Ghee-1 cup
Milk-2 cups
Besan powder-1 big spoon
Water-1 cup
Cardamom powder-1 spoon
Kesar-a pinch
Cashewnuts/almonds/pista-1 cup (roasted and chopped)
PROCEDURE—
Wash moong dal and soak it in water for about 4-5 hours in water, and then grind it to make a paste. Take a pan, boil sugar and water to get sugar syrup, in this add kesar and off the flame. Take a kadai, heat ghee and fry moong dal paste, to this add besan powder. Once ghee comes up add milk. Keep stirring constantly, and then add sugar syrup also. Cook till this mixture condenses and you get the solid consistency. Finally add cardamom powder, dry fruits and serve.
Once cooled, you can cut into required shapes.
