My previous comment was NOT meant to be a criticism...  please re-read the 1st para: heartily commending such initiative :  whether you take it, or celebrities do it !!

...what I wrote thereafter is, again, an effort at organising all our dissipated energies, into a cohesive force so that it becomes effective!  We owe it to the very environment we live in that we are not ignorant to its needs, but move ahead consciously , to protect it ! ... otherwise what difference between us 'Humans' and the rest of the bio-diversity ! 


And, my friend, why can't You and I make a difference, too ?  It is NOT only celebrities and stars who make an impact on the masses !   Rightly planned, efficiently organised, and with the right leadership, any "cause" can be turned into a mass movement !

I had mentioned Delhi - on 1st and 2nd April this year - by making just such an appeal through various media:  Radio, TV, emails, Blogs, pamphlets, school children ...   about 1600 MWH of electric energy (and consequently, bio-fuel,  heat, warming, pollution, ... and the rest of the product-chain...) was saved !

Isn't that massive ?  ( ...and yes, NO celebrities or politicians or so-called stars or public figures were involved at any stage ).

Have confidence in your own abilities, dear Shangs!

Commendable it is, indeed...  that 'people' are getting to be environment aficionados, too !
But why marry a noble activity with the hunger of publicity that people in entertainment media invariably succumb to !

All 'Causes' have to be practically projected, with a view to a successful and participatory response from the targeted masses...
...and, my dear Shangs! ...promoting such an appeal at the height of scorching summer in tropical India, seems to be either a sarcasm, or customOengineered to produce a resistance to the cause ! May be a couple of days, distributed over mid-Oct or mid-Feb, (as was recently successfully done in Delhi),  for 3hours each... across India , will be a more practicable movement !

All the best, however, for taking up immutable concerns, rather than just transitory fulfilment of the material senses.
...even if done unconsciously !  LOLzzzz....
